Flandrau Science Center is beginning its transition to the new University of Arizona Science Center, to open in Downtown Tucson in 2009.

From September of 2005 through August of 2006, the Flandrau building on the University campus will suspend regular public programs to allow for installation of new exhibit prototypes and planetarium shows. Flandrau will re-open in September of 2006.

During this transition time there are still things you can do at Flandrau:

The UA Mineral Museum has an outstanding collection of more than 15,000 rock and mineral specimens from Arizona, Mexico, and the Southwest US along with an extensive collection of meteorites from around the world. The Mineral Museum is currently open to individuals and groups by appointment at no charge by calling (520) 621-4227.

Flandrau Science Center is located on the campus of The University of Arizona on the northeast corner of University Blvd and Cherry Ave. Free parking is available for Flandrau visitors on the south side of Hawthorne Street, just north of the building.
